Solar Lab will conduct various activities to realize a clean energy society. Its focus is to present exhibitions to create an interest in global environmental issues and photovoltaic science among the younger generation which will lead in the future. We hope this museum becomes a "Place promoting Life" where new activities will be created through visitors, staff, business enterprises, and regional communities thinking about and discovering the relationship among the "Sun," "global environmental issues," "photovoltaics science," and "human beings."

Solar Lab's Activities

Basic structure of the exhibitions
The exhibition space consists of an open space bathed in comfortable sunlight and a booth area which is divided into island forms. Each booth is constructed independently based on a distinct theme. Visitors may choose their observation route freely, however, we recommend the following route.
Zone 1: Passing through the ark structure the Woods of Wisdom
Introduction to the wonder of this gigantic structure. The structure of the ark is a part of the exhibition. Visitors are excited by the immensity of such themes as the sun, global environment, and semiconductors.
Zone 2: Welcome to the Solar Lab
This is a zone to excite visitors' curiosity. By seeing ordinary things looking somewhat different their curiosity as to what makes them different will encourage them to see the exhibition in full.
Zone 3: Solar science
The sun from the scientific point of view. In an entertaining way various scientific information and phenomenon about the sun are introduced. Visitors can cycle to the sun by becoming part of a wall painting.
Zone 4: Describing the Sun
The sun from the cultural point of view. Art, poetry, and music with a sun motif from various countries and ages are introduced. This zone reveals how people have related to the sun.
Zone 5: Feeling the Sun
Feel the sun with your senses. Depart from Anpachi Town, Gifu on the ark and in sounds and light make a trip around the world.
Zone 6: Solar Ark Control Deck
The heart of the Solar Ark. Visualize the solar cell power generation volume at the Solar Ark and also in each region of Japan. Various information and global environmental issues are introduced, and realistic experiences are provided.
Zone 7: Solar Library
Library about photovoltaic science. Historic research and actual voices from the manufacturing site are heard. Photovoltaic science are introduced in lively workshops.
Zone 8: Solar Garden
A square focusing on the future of solar cells. SANYO's environmental activities utilizing solar cells and the future view of solar power generation technology are introduced.
Zone 9: Community Garden
This is a rest zone for visitors to relax and communicate in the comfortable sunlight. In this relaxing atmosphere the solar robot is exhibited to inspire people as to the future of photovoltaic application!
