LED Signs and Presentation Lighting System

*Over 77,200 LEDs were used. The maximum luminance of LEDs is lower than that of neon lights, higher quality displays can be created. LEDs are used for the fashionable buildings in places such as Ginza and Shinsaibashi, which attract people´s attention. Also, power consumption is one-seventh of neon lights, which greatly contributes to economical efficiency and environmental conservation.

LEDs are used for the signs (SANYO, SOLAR ARK) and presentation lighting system.

SANYO

3.5m tall and 16.5m wide (The letter "N" is 5.34m tall) Approx. 39,000 red LEDs are used.

SOLAR ARK

2.4m tall and 11.7m wide Approx. 17,000 white LEDs are used.

Presentation Lighting System

412 lighting units, each with a diameter of 120mm, are mounted between solar cell units. Each unit consists of a total of 51 red, green, and blue LEDs.
These units are computer controlled, which makes full color light emission possible. A variety of seasonal presentations is made possible with gradation lighting and an image/character display.


Water Design

Ponds, waterfalls, and fountains are arranged around the structure. A feeling of vitality is created by the wind blowing accris the water and the light reflecting from it's surface

Waterfalls

The two waterfalls,One on each pond, are 2.35m high and 40m wide. The maximum water flow is 9.2m3 per minute.

Ponds

the tow ponds are 780m², 5-10cm deep, constantly holding total of 130 tons of water. They can also be used as sources of water for fire suppression.

Aqua Clean System

System : "SANYO Aqua Clean System" is used to prevent water pollution. This system keeps water clean by hypochlorous acid generated through water electrolyzation and also prevents the generation of Legionella bacteria which is harmful to the human body, especially the lungs.

Waterdesign

*The Aqua Clean System does not use chlorine agents that can cause eye and skin irritations. It is commonly used as a water purification system for swimming pools and spas. In addition to commercial equipment, this technology is also used for appliances such as SANYO´s washing Machine with "detergentless Setting."

Space under the west cascade is used for restrooms.

SANYO´s "Solights"

"Solight" were installed in the pool at the top of the cascade to fill the windowless semi-basement with soft natural light.

*Solight has a compact built-in motor this is driven by a small solar cell. The motor allows the apparatus to bring in the optimum amount of natural light by automatically tracing the direction and angle of the sun.
