Supplemental Information

Outline and Background

Projector shipments to the global market are estimated to be around 6.4 million units in fiscal year 2008. Continued growth and expansion is expected (according to company studies) in 2010 to reach a record-breaking shipment of 8.8 million units.

For projectors, SANYO offers a broad line-up that ranges from high-end commercial-use conference/exhibition and digital movie theater/cinema advertising projectors featuring high definition and high brightness, to a number of small- and mid-size portable models used in smaller meeting and class rooms.

SANYO has focused on developing this broad line-up of industry-leading high-brightness and high-resolution projectors. This year, SANYO has already released various types and models of projectors such as the “LP-XF47,” a fixed-type commercial-use model with the LCD projectors’ industry’s highest brightness of 15,000 lumens, the “LP-XF70” which has the industry’s highest brightness of 9,000 lumens for dual-lamp XGA model LCD projectors, and the “LP-XL50,” an ultra-short focus projector that revolutionizes the way projectors are used, allowing large projections from an incredibly short distance.

Recently, there is a noticeably growing demand for portable or mobile projector models that are compact, small enough to carry around for presentations outside the office or for educators moving from one classroom to another in school. Smaller, more portable projectors meet this need by allowing clear and simple projection on-the-go.

In response to this new and growing demand, SANYO developed the “LP-XW60”, which has achieved the industry’s smallest and lightest projector*1 LCD projector status. While the size has been reduced to meet demand, the features and functions are as present as ever, creating a true solution to meet the ever changing needs of professionals and people everywhere.
