Tokyo, March 19, 2007 – SANYO announced today that Chairperson
Tomoyo Nonaka has turned in her letter of resignation.
Tomoyo Nonaka was advanced to the role of Chairman of the Board of
Directors in June 2005. Along with her placement as Chairperson, she
created and promoted the “Think GAIA”vision, a vision
stating that the company needed to change and become a “Maker
that delights both life and the Earth”. In her attempts to aid
SANYO in fulfilling this vision, she pushed the embodiment of these
concepts, in such products as the next-generation “eneloop”
pre-charged rechargeable battery and “AQUA”, a washing
machine system that dramatically reduces the amount of water used
per cycle. |
