SANYO Haier Co. Ltd. was established in February 2002 with the purpose of utilizing SANYO’s sales network to sell Haier-branded consumer electronics products in the Japanese market, further promoting business and solidifying the business structure with Haier. SANYO and Haier has decided to liquidate this company on March 31, 2007, with the view that it has fulfilled its role of permeating the Haier brand into the Japanese market and that it is compatible with the structural transformation of the SANYO Group.

* The liquidation of SANYO Haier Co. Ltd. will not affect Haier SANYO Electric Co., Ltd., a new joint venture that Haier and SANYO established in January 2007.
