| SANYO Electric Co., Ltd. (SANYO) is fully cooperating with the Securities
and Exchange Surveillance Commission’s investigation as referenced
in an update posted on its global website in “About certain
reports on February 23, 2007”. SANYO today stated that it will
review the valuation of investments in subsidiaries and affiliates
for the time between April 2000 and March 2004, and is currently in
the process of reviewing impairment losses conforming with accounting
standards related to financial commodities. Primarily, this is with
a view to bring the amendment of the non-consolidated financial statements
for the given period under consideration.
Further details will be disclosed as soon as the review is complete
and a course of action has been decided upon.
