Reshaping and Optimizing the Global Sales Structure

Tokyo, January 30, 2007----- SANYO Electric Co., Ltd. (SANYO) announced
today the decision to merge SANYO Sales & Marketing Co., Ltd.
(SSM) with SANYO on April 1, 2007. SSM is responsible for overseas
sales, marketing, logistics and import and export of SANYO’s
finished goods, and import of materials and parts. SSM will be dissolved
following the merger. The functions carried out until now by SSM will
be transferred to SANYO Electric Co., Ltd., specifically to the Overseas
Marketing Headquarters (tentative name) which is to be newly established
in the Global Sales Group.
Consequently, through the consolidation of the Group structure, SANYO
will be able to manufacture products best tailored to the needs of
each market, strengthen the sales mechanism, expand sales in overseas
markets and increase customer satisfaction.
Upon this merger, by unifying the overseas marketing strategy and
reshaping as well as optimizing the global sales structure, SANYO
aims to further expand sales overseas based on the core businesses
and raise customer satisfaction. SANYO will be able to further the
restructuring of overseas sales offices through increased efficiency,
synergy, and cross-sales among operations.
