| SANYO Makes Organizational Changes |

Tokyo, Sept. 28, 2006---SANYO Electric Co., Ltd.
(SANYO) announces organizational changes. |
| |
| The following organizational changes will be implemented starting
from Oct. 1, 2006, with the purpose to further strengthen Core Businesses
and integrate Consumer and Commercial businesses. |
1. Reorganize business groups
| (1) |
Dissolve the ‘Home Electronics Group’ |
| (2) |
Reorganize the ‘Domestic Sales Group’ and ‘Overseas
& OEM Sales Group’ into the ‘Global Sales Group’ |
| (3) |
Change the name of the ‘Personal Electronics Group’
to the ‘Personal Mobile Group’ and the name of the
‘Business Development Group’ to the ‘Harmonious
Society Group.’ |
| (4) |
Change the name of the ‘EVOLUTION PJ Management Group’
to the Global EVOLUTION PJ Management Group. |

Transfer the TV business (SANYO TV International Corporation)

| Transfer of its washing machine
business to the Tokyo Plant |

SANYO will transfer development and production of washer/dryer machines,
industrial use washing machines, equipment for residence facilities
including industrial use microwaves and kitchen equipment from the
Shiga factory (Shiga Prefecture, Otsu City) to the Tokyo Plant (Gunma
Prefecture). The Tokyo Plant is a stronghold of SANYO’s core
business, HVAC/R and Commercial Equipment.
The objective is to effectively use management resources and integrate
commercial and consumer businesses. |

Optimize and create synergy through the integration of AQUA-related
technology (environment and water processing technology) and
commercial technology. In addition, through strategic investments,
SANYO will raise product development capabilities of consumer
and commercial businesses with an aim to expand business as
well as recreate a growth strategy for the washing machine business.

The Tokyo Plant is concentrated on the development and production
of industrial use large-scale equipment, and the necessary infrastructure
for industrial use equipment already exists. |
|
The Shiga factory will be positioned as an ‘Environment, Quality
and Customer Service’ stronghold. SANYO plans to utilize the
Shiga factory for an environment management center and testing laboratory.
SANYO plans to start production at the Tokyo Plant for washer/dryer
machines and equipment related to residence facilities from Feb. 2007
and production of industrial use washing machines from May 2007. Production
will be transferred to SANYO Tokyo Manufacturing Co., Ltd., located
inside the Tokyo Plant. |
