Since introducing a digital movie camera in 1998, SANYO has provided
products that you can carry with you anytime and anywhere to shoot
beautiful still images as well as video easily. These are tools to
capture those memorable moments for the future.
With the Xacti C series, SANYO proposed a new style of camera that
enables you to shoot both still images and video easily with one hand,
and SANYO will continue to provide a fun digital imaging experience
to its users.
SANYO is releasing the DMX-HD1, a high-definition*1 digital movie
camera that enables the user to view a clear high-resolution pictures
on a large-screen high-definition TV. This is in response to requests
from consumers for a camera with which they can capture those valuable,
once-in-lifetime memories beautifully, while retaining the attractive
“two-in-one” role of the Xacti C series.
DMX-HD1 features the world’s first, high-definition MPEG-4 video
function in its world’s smallest and lightest body*2.This digital
movie camera is designed to shoot and view higher-quality pictures,
with features such as the Platinum Engine – a high-speed image
processing LSI that enables you to shoot 5.1 million pixels and to
capture high-resolution images from high-definition video. It has
an optical 10x zoom lens and D4 terminal compatibility that enables
the user to view high-resolution still images.

World’s smallest and lightest*2
high-definition digital movie camera
|
DMX-HD1 features the world’s first high-definition
MPEG-4 video function*2 that enables the user to view high-resolution,
clear pictures on large-screen high-definition TV, which is expected
to become increasingly popular. It can record up to 40 minutes*4
of high-definition video on a 2-Gigabyte SD memory card.
SANYO achieved the world’s smallest and lightest body by using
an advanced design approach based on high-density mounting technology,
in order to make high-definition video shooting an easy and everyday
activity.
DMX-HD1 is compact and lightweight at only about 200 cc and 210 g*5,
which means that, although it is high-definition compatible, it can
be carried around in a shirt or pants pocket or handbag.
It echoes the popular “ergonomic style” of the DMX-C1
and subsequent models. The lenses and hand-grip are angled to enable
shooting of high-definition video and still images in a natural shooting
posture with no stress on the wrist or elbow.
*4: In HD-HQ mode
*5: Camera body only |
| 2. |
World’s first*2 simultaneous shooting*3 of high-definition
video and 5.1 million pixel, high-resolution still images
|
The user can take favorite snapshots with a high resolution
of 5.1 million pixels while shooting high-definition video of your
children in everyday scenes.
In order to make simultaneous shooting possible, SANYO developed the
Platinum Engine, a high-definition, high-speed image processing LSI,
for the DMX-HD1.
The Platinum Engine is based on SANYO’s proprietary technology
that enables parallel processing of video and high-resolution images
and interleave recording, and enables recording and playback of MPEG-4
high-definition video.
It also enables rapid continuous still image shooting at the world’s
fastest*6 rate of 0.2 seconds per frame with
a high resolution of 5.1 million pixels*7, using
the high-speed image processing capability.
*3: In still image mode, images may be recorded with video paused.
*6: Consumer use digital movie camera category, (January 11, 2006)
*7: Three frames can be recorded. |
| 3. |
D4 output compatible: enables enjoyment of clear video and
high-resolution still images on a high-definition TV. |
| An improvement over the current TV (SD) output terminal,
the D4 terminal for high-definition (HD) output on the docking station
enables viewing of high-definition video as well as still images at
higher resolutions than the photograph resolution. |
| 4. |
Compact optical 10x-zoom x digital 10x-zoom gives powerful
zooming-in on far-away subjects. |
A new compact optical 10x zoom lens was developed by
Konica-Minolta. The combination of the optical zoom and the digital
10x zoom allows zooming at up to 100x. Key scenes during school events,
such as entrance ceremonies and sport festivals, and sport events
can be zoomed in on and captured full-screen.
In movie mode, the camera-shake compensator reduces camera shake during
zooming and enables easy shooting of clear video.
A 2.0x tele-conversion lens and a 0.6x wide-conversion lens are available
as optional accessories to expand the range of scenes that can be
shot. |
| 5. |
Platinum Vision: world’s first*2 OLED display |
| In order to improve the image quality of the display,
we developed Platinum Vision, a 2.2-inch (about 210,000 pixels), high-resolution
OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) display. Platinum Vision has excellent
features such as high contrast, fast response and wide viewing angle
compared to LCD displays. |
| 6. |
Set the camera in the docking station for easy viewing and
copying |
| An improvement over the current TV (SD) output terminal,
the D4 terminal for high-definition (HD) output on the docking station
enables viewing of high-definition video as well as still images at
higher resolutions than the photograph resolution. |
| 7. |
Easy operation: you can shoot and playback video only using
your thumb. |
| The camera features our highly rated “easy operation
with the thumb.” Separate buttons are provided for shooting
video and still images so that you can shoot without changing the
shooting mode. All control buttons are located on the back of the
camera so that shooting/playback operations can be controlled only
with the thumb. The LCD monitor, which rotates by 285 degrees, enables
you to set the right angle when taking pictures of yourself. |
