| Toshio spent many sleepless nights thinking about his most recent
brush with disaster. On one night in particular Toshio had a sudden flash of insight.
"When starting out, I believed that concentrating on one thing would allow
me to put my heart and soul into my work. While my approach was not completely
wrong, if I continue to produce only bicycle lamps, similar problems will occur
in the future. For stability, we have to handle other products." When Toshio
turned on the light that night, the first thing he saw was a radio. "If the
company manufactured radios, almost all the materials could be obtained in Japan."
In September of that year, a commercial radio broadcast service had just been
started. "The timing is perfect for Japan, and the day when everyone has
a radio is probably not that far off. And if overseas markets are taken into consideration,
future demand for radios is limitless." For the first time in a very long
time, Toshio fell into a deep sleep. |
